Putting on a show

The children set up a theatre today so they could perform on FS2's Got Talent. At first they used used the step stool as a stage but they realised it was too small for so many performers. After a bit of thinking, they decided to get the blocks from the large construction and use those.

See you all on Monday.

Gold Book

Congratulations Jacob and Joel

Jacob is in the Gold Book this week for showing determination and perseverance when he tackled a labeling activity all about Autumn. He named the things he could see in the picture and sounded them out. Some words were very tricky but Jacob didn't give up.

Joel showed how caring and kind he is this week. When a friend was upset, Joel tried his best to help him by sharing his equipment. His friend was very grateful and I was very proud.

Looking after the birds

The finger gym activity this week was all about threading. The children had the choice of popcorn or cereal to use to make a simple bird feeder.

We went to the school garden yesterday to hang the feeders from the trees.

Big Talk

This week we are learning all about kindness and friendship. For your Big Talk homework I would like you to watch the video and talk about your answers to the questions below.

I would like you to talk to your grown up about;

  • What makes you, YOU!
  • Are you a good friend?
  • What's beautiful about you?
  • What makes you stand out from the crowd?
  • What was the last thing you talked about?
  • When was the last time you listened?
  • What do you do to relax?
  • What would you wish for?

Ruby is in the Gold Book this week because of her outstanding attitude to her learning. She is currently enjoying using our watercolours, experimenting and creating wonderful pieces of art.

Layla is in the Gold Book this week for her excellent phonic work during our reading time. She confidently sounded out the words in her book. I am delighted in her progress.

Orange books

The children in FS2 love mark making so we've decided to have special books children can take home to draw and write in and then bring back to school to show that class.
We talked about them this morning and decided on a name for them.
The children voted, we counted up the votes and they are called "wonderful books"

We decided it was an "if you want to" challenge. Ask your child if they are planning on bringing home a "Wondeful book"

Remembrance Day

Today we watched a cartoon to learn why people are wearing poppies. In assembly we watched as each class lay a poppy wreath, just like the Queen did on Remembrance Sunday.

Big Talk

This is our first BIG TALK image. Each week we will look at an illustration and find as much as we can to talk about. We will learn new vocabulary and make up sentences to describe what we see.
(Usually, Big Talk will happen on Friday, but this week we will have our session on Thursday.)

Congratulations to Rusha and Maizie

Rusha has been exploring the creative area. She produced some excellent colour mixing when we were finding different out if we could make different skin tones.

Maizie has also been very creative and has really enjoyed the colour mixing activity. She was able to make over 20 various shades and tones of brown. She returned to this activity later in the day it interested her that much.
