Yesterday the children brought home a new special book; 'Rainbow words'. As explained, the children should be encouraged to write out these words in many different colours until they are confident to spell them.
Rather than looking at all the words at once, focus on one a day, that way children won't become overwhelmed.
Maisie is showing her perseverance skills during our group reading time. Even though a word might be tricky, it doesn't put her off, she uses her phonic skills and works it out. I'm really proud of you Maisie.
Lexie always demonstrates her co-operation skills when learning with other children. Without reminders, she is able to share, take turns and gives her friends a hand if they get stuck. Wonderful qualities to have.
This week we are finding out about the celebration "Chinese New Year" The classroom is full of new activities to try and today we were so lucky to have the help of Mrs Rogers, a specialist languages teacher, who taught us how to say some Chinese words. Look out for the videos on Tapestry by the end of the week.
Some wonderful learning so far this week.
Looking forward to more fun tomorrow. Can you teach your grown up the number names for 1,2 and 3?
Preston has shown how reflective he is, just like Ria. He has been thinking about all the exciting things he can do in class. You've really made me smile this week!
Ellie-May has shown how resourceful she is when she completed this week's Mr Maker challenge. We didn't have exactly the same things he used so Ellie-May used her learning powers and found alternatives. I am so proud of you Ellie-May.
