What a wonderful week

As another term comes to an end here are a few photos from this week.

A note to the wolf asking why he left such a mess in our room!
Reporting the incident
Ruby built a brick house.
A straw, stick and brick house for the three pigs
Lexi made some new puppets; a castle, Prince, Princess and a unicorn.
Another letter to Jack.

We also took an early delivery of 5 tiny caterpillars. I promise to look after them and send you daily photos.

Thank you to all the adults who came to play yesterday afternoon, the children were really excited to share their learning with you. We hope you enjoyed it.

Happy half term, see you in a week ☀️

Who's been in our class?

Something was very strange in class today. When we came back from assembly this is what we saw 😮

We quickly made our detective badges and set about looking at the clues.

5 magic beans. Who do they belong to?

A bowl of porridge. Who eats this?

A bunch of huge keys.

A bag of gold coins.

A cow pat 😳 Who has left that?!
More clues....

The children thought the wolf had blown the houses down and we had been visited by the characters we had read about this term; Goldilocks, Jack, Daisy and The Giant.

Later in the morning we had an email from Sergeant Mike, he had some information for us. The wolf had left him an important video message back at the station.
Apparently the wolf sneezed and the houses just fell down!!! We're not sure if we believe him. Tomorrow we will ask the wolf some questions to find out for sure.

Busy learners

Here are some photos from today. It's been a day full of great attitudes and learning.

The reading and writing challenge. Pick a word, read it, build it, write it.

One of the girls made pipecleaner bracelets at Rainbows this week, so we did the same. The only thing, we didn't have lots of beads. We didn't let that stop us. So, like Resourceful Rashan, we made our own from cut up straws.

Headband with a hair curl.

This is our adding machine. He likes to gobble up numbers! The boys are finding out the answer to 9+4

Build a tower game. The boys rolled the dice and built the tower. The winner was the person first to build all towers.

Winner!!

The girls have their own adding machine and are finding out the answers.

5 and 2 equals....

"It's 7!!!"

The children made up their own rules using the 'shut the box' game

A very tricky challenge was offered here. Piece back together the 100 square jigsaw. With lots of perseverance the children were successful. We are very proud.

Phew!! What a day. See you tomorrow for lots more fun in FS2.

Which car is the fastest?

We had lots of fun this morning finding out which car was the fastest. The boys made sure the cars set off at the same time to make it fair. Look how they've recorded their findings.

Looking forward to playing the game again tomorrow 🏎

Gold Book

Congratulations Maizie and Jack S

Maizie has an incredible imagination and creative flair. She continues to demonstrate how resourceful she is when she spends learning time in the workshop area.

Jack showed his perseverance skills when writing a sentence this week. He didn't give up! I am very proud of you.

Seedlings

The children have brought their sunflower seedlings home today to transfer into a pot or the garden. We will have a competition to see who can grow the tallest one. I've put an extra seed in the bag to replace the ones that haven't germinated.

Photos of entries for the competition can be brought to school week beginning 18th July 2016

Good luck everyone 🌱🌻

Big Talk

We've started reading the traditional story Goldilocks and the three bears. Here's a version of the story if you'd like to read it.

This is the image we will use on Friday morning.

Talk about each character.
Who's who? How can you tell?
How are they all feeling?
Where have they been?
What has happened in the house?
How would you feel if your chair was broken?

Can you write a speech bubble for each character?

Our week

This week we've had great fun. Dressing up outside and using our imagination, playing with the potion set concocting food and drink, playing number games and writing missing numbers, and today we found a golden egg!!!!

Writing the missing numbers

Spelling words with the stamps

Making pictures with tap a shape

Sorting, ordering and drawing objects for each number. "20 rainbows"

A golden egg surrounded in magic glitter

Big Talk and Big Write

Using phonic skills to write the sounds in the words.

What happened next?

A giant letter so the giant can read it.

We decided to give the golden egg back to the giant, it was the right thing to do.

Have a lovely sunny weekend ☀️
