Gold Book

Congratulations Jasmine and Samuel

Jasmine has such a positive attitude and loves everything about school. I am so pleased with the progress she is making.

Samuel is so polite and helpful. He has recently been seeing success in completing the challenges each week and feeling very proud of himself.

Big Talk

This week I have introduced a new display to support the children to talk about their learning. They are using phrases such as "I found it hard but I kept on trying, just like Mike the Knight"

The display shows the 9 'Characteristics of Effective Learning'
When staff observe children for evidence to put into their profile, they are also looking to see which of the characteristics they are demonstrating in their learning.

The Big Talk homework is to talk to your child about their learning this week and try and see which characteristic it fits with. It might fit more than one.

I would be very grateful if you could leave a comment with an example of what you talked about and the characteristic.

We have special visitors

This morning we saw this in class...

The note in the bottle said "we like it here" The children said it must be from the fairies.
We spotted red pixie dust on Friday afternoon but I just thought Mrs Frisby had spilt some glitter!!

It's so exciting, we want them to visit again so we've made a fairy den outside.

Some of us have been wrapping twigs too, they'll look lovely dangling from the Fairy Den.

Make sure you pop back to see more fabulous, fun in FS2.

Gold Book 10th March

Congratulations to Arlie and Lilly

Arlie continues to be a motivated learner. Recently enjoying drawing shapes and labelling them. I am really proud of you Arlie.

Lilly showed perseverance and motivation when she tackled the new maths challenge this week. I am really impressed you kept going and didn't give up.

Solar eclipse 2015

This morning the children were able to witness the solar eclipse using eye protection kindly shared by Mrs Richardson (FS1 parent). We had planned to watch it via the live feed but delighted everyone could see part of the eclipse, guided by an adult, first hand. The children's reponses were of amazement and awe.

Photos on the class ipad

I came across the following photos on the class ipad.
Last Friday we make a photo booth for Red Nose Day and I let the children take their own photos. As you can imagine, they are very funny!

Snail babies

Can you remember when Miss Morris' adult snail had babies? I took three home and have been looking after them since then. They are now strong enough to live in the big tank. We need to think of three names for them.

Engineering in the construction area

Have a look at the ramp Ellis has made. He has used the wooden blocks and wooden pieces to make a ramp for his car called Flash. Ellis has also drawn his ramp and written about it. Ellis wanted to put the photos in a collage. He suggested the colours for background and borders.
