Playdough and felt tips

This week we've been using felt tips with dough.

Madisyn realised she could change the colour of the dough and went on to make these figures.

Layla made a dice.

A collection of 'play dough and felt tip' fun.

Talk about what you can see.
How many children are in this picture?
What will happen if the ice breaks?
What would you do if you were in this place?
Can you make some speech bubbles for 2 of the characters?

Gold Book

Well done Shay and Daniel J

Shay has displayed his co-operative skills this week when playing with 3 others. He led the game, recording the scores and cheering on his friends.

Daniel showed perseverance this week. He didn't give up when he found it tricky and went on to complete the alphabet sort game on the phonic challenge table. Brilliant attitude Daniel.

Gold Book

Using our new 4 learning characteristics;

Perseverance
Co-operative
Resilience
Reflective

These children were nominated for a mention in the Gold Book

Daniel M has shown perseverance over a number of weeks because he has completed the "Teach Your Monster To Read" game at home. We are very proud of you.

Krzysztof displayed co-operation with his friend last week during a game in the maths area.

Kyran is in the gold book because he displayed co-operation when he played in the snowy small world we have in class. He was able to share and take turns with the animals.

Jack R-W is in the gold book because of the perseverance he displayed when he played 'Find Your Fish' reading game. He concentrated really hard to remember where his coloured fish were. Well done Jack, you stuck at it.

Big Talk and our 4 new friends

This week we have spoken about our 4 new friends; Ria, Rashan, Parker and Cara. They all have different characteristics that we are hoping to develop to become ever better learners.

Ria is reflective. She thinks about her learning and is proud of her successes, she also thinks about how she might change the way she does things for better results.

Rashan is resourceful. He thinks carefully about how he can use things or do things differently.

Parker is perseverant. He never gives up even when things get tough.

Cara is co-operative. She helps out when she can, she shares and works as a team member.

This is our new display.

Big Talk homework is to see if you can find examples of the characteristics in the illustration below.

I look forward to hearing what you notice in the illustration.
